Welcome to the Garden Club!

The Mount Klitsa Garden Club is a collection of your friends and neighbours in the Port Alberni area who are passionate about gardening. Our goal is to learn about and celebrate the joys of plants, soil and growing things.

The Club is named for Mount Klitsa, a striking conical peak visible from Sproat Lake west of Port Alberni, BC. Mount Klitsa's peak forms an impressive backdrop to many of the gardens at Sproat Lake, where several of the Club's founding members lived.

Brian Minter to Speak at Klitsa Garden Club
Brian Minter, a gardener of world renown, will be in Port Alberni on Monday October 3rd at Echo Centre Cedar Room at 7 PM.
His topic will be, Taking Your Garden to the Next Level. He will bring some of his favourite plants to sell.
This presentation is free for Klitsa Garden Club members. The public are invited for a donation of $5 or more which could be put towards future membership in the Club.

Bill Forsyth at 4149 Bute Street (behind Shopper's Drug Mart) invites you to come and visit his small garden.

This elderly gentleman has worked hard in his yard and it will be ready to show off any time after August 15.

Bill just asks that you call ahead to arrange a time for your visit. Let's all go and have a visit and chat with Bill in his garden.

You are invited to a work party at CMHA Horticulture Project across the street from the Coop on Beaver Creek Road on Monday July 25th at 9AM. We are in need of some community human power to get a jump on the work. This includes transplanting seedlings, weeding, laying mulch, mowing grass and general garbage cleanup.
Come join us. Working with others in the outdoors is therapeutic. Lunch will be served so let us know if you are coming.
